BattleKart Gateshead

Gateshead FAQs

We welcome all ages! However, we do have a minimum height requirement of 1.45m (4ft 9.5in) in order to safely drive the karts.

  • The activity is unsuitable for those with epilepsy, heart conditions, those with a weak back or neck, pregnant women and those with a pacemaker (despite passing all EMV tests).
  • If you have any questions regarding suitability then please feel free to get in touch with us.
  • We recommend that people with fragile eardrums bring their hearing protection.
  • Persons of a larger build who weigh over 120kg may find it difficult or uncomfortable to take part in the activity due to the size of the karts.
  • It is forbidden to take part in the activity under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Unfortunately we do not have a lift to get upstairs to our reception and bar/cafe at the moment. We do have space downstairs to store prams/wheelchairs. We acknowledge the inconvenience this may cause, and apologise for it. We are hoping to address this in the future. If you have any accessibility questions please feel free to get in touch with us.

We have twelve karts that can play at the same time. You do not need to book all twelve of these places, we will fill them up with other customers. However if you would prefer a private game, you are welcome to book all twelve of these places yourself.

No, we only have single-seater karts, which is why a minimum height of 1.45 m is required to be able to drive a kart safely on your own.

BattleKart have developed an anti-collision system that takes control of your kart and brakes when necessary to avoid accidents. This system avoids most collisions (therefore helmets are not required), however it is not an absolute guarantee. Therefore we ask our riders to drive sensibly.

We do accept walk-ins, but we would always recommend pre-booking in order to avoid disappointment.

You’re not sitting in front of a screen – the kart is really moving and you’re really driving it at full throttle in a hall plunged into semi-darkness. You accelerate, you brake, and you handle the steering wheel. And use the bonuses by pressing the buttons on the steering wheel at the right moment.

No, players don’t need VR glasses! The projection of game modes and circuits on the floor of the hall are very bright and well detailed.

We accept both cash and card payments.

We don’t yet have an official party offering, however we can cater for parties. We have a private room that can be hired, and you are welcome to bring your own cake/food for a fee. Please get in touch to discuss this with us.
